Shalom Ramah Berkshires family,

I am delighted to share an update on our Kayitz ’23 leadership team.

We previously announced that as part of our new leadership model, Ramah Berkshires is adding a Rosh Machaneh Aleph and Rosh Machaneh Bet (Heads of A-side and B-side).  These positions will lead and work closely with our Rashei Edot (Division Heads), who in turn will provide our counselors with the skills, support and strategies to create excellent experiences for our campers.

I’m happy to report that our new Rosh Machaneh Aleph is Randi Navon. Randi has been a long-time camper and highly cherished staff member, and she may be familiar to many of you most recently as our head of Ta’am, the “Taste of Ramah” program for our youngest campers. Randi is a Special Education teacher in Pennsylvania and brings years of compassion to and nurturing of elementary school-age children.

In the new role of Rosh Machaneh Bet, it is an honor to welcome back Shaya Kalmanofsky, a two-time Rosh Edah, including last summer’s head of Gesher. Shaya is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo with a degree in history and is completing two years as a Springboard Fellow working in engagement at Tulane Hillel. Shaya is an avid Chicago Bears, Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift fan, has ran in and completed the New York City and Providence marathons, and has vast experience inspiring campers and counselors alike.

Shaya and Randi are actively involved in our hiring process, recruiting energetic, caring and hard-working counselors for the coming summer and giving them the support and development needed to be Camp dugmaot (role models).

We look forward to welcoming them back and to an amazing Kayitz ’23!

Only 113 days until Camp!
